Karen Lee DeGraffenreid, age 71, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.  She was born in Iberia on September 15, 1951, daughter of the late Lloyd and Veda Evelyn (Scott) DeGraffenreid.

Karen had a talent for crafting ceramics, crocheting, and quilting, making countless keepsakes throughout her lifetime.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved the Colorado Mountains, and enjoyed hosting family dinners, who always looked forward to Karen's home cooking.  Karen had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, especially her dogs.   She helped her mother, Veda, work at their family business, DeGraffenreid Store in Brumley.   Karen was a long-time member of Brumley Baptist Church where she was baptized.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon Gardner of Iberia; brother, James Scott DeGraffenreid and wife Kathy of Port St. Lucie, FL; aunt, Hazel Morrow; cousins, Vicki Pemberton of Iberia, Doug Scott and Jeff Scott both of Stoutland; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Lloyd DeGraffenreid; sister, Mary Ann Smith; and brother-in-law, Danny Gardner.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Monday, September 18, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Warren Mitchell officiating.  Interment will be held in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Brumley Baptist Church or Hawkins Cemetery.
