Kateena Elizabeth Hill, age 36, of Ft. Lewis, Washington, formerly of Meta, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009. She was born in Jefferson City on January 29, 1973, daughter of David C. and Gertrude (Handing) Hendricks. On January 20, 2006, in Jefferson City, Kateena married Tommy Hill, who survives at the home.

Kateena was a 1991 graduate of Fatima High School. She joined the army in 1990 and served as a flight medic. Kateena was very dedicated to the Army and after the 9-11 attack on the Pentagon she helped rescue survivors.

She is also survived by one daughter, Kendall Hendricks of Meta; one son, Jacob Hendricks of Meta; two sisters, Shari Finnigan of St. James and fiancé Wayne Cook, and Cheryl Basiger of Meta and husband Dale; mother, Gertrude Hendricks; mother-in-law, Jane Suggs of California; step mother-in-law, Eileen Coffett; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Hendricks; sister, Pam Hendricks; maternal and paternal grandparents; and her father-in-law, James Suggs.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Bro. James Browner will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Southside Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
