Katherine Elizabeth Ponder, age 95, of Crocker formerly of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Richland Care Center. She was born in Crocker on May 4, 1918, daughter of the late George and Olive Dodd. Katherine married Paul Ponder, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1971.

She was an accomplished artist and created several beautiful paintings. She enjoyed going to church and visiting with family and friends.

Katherine was a member of the Crocker First Baptist Church and the Iberia Eastern Star.

She is survived by one brother, Robert Dodd and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rosetta Wells; three brothers, Willis Dodd, Harold Dodd, and Tommy Dodd; and five sisters, Mabel Bell, Ethel Setser, Anna Belle Grady, Dorothy Hubbard, and Rosalee Jones.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Pastor Dave Swetnam will officiate. Interment will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
