Kathern Lou Prather, age 84, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born in Iberia on July 31, 1933, daughter of the late Walter Wayne and Nancy Madge (Lee) Humphrey. On April 19, 1959, in Iberia, Kathern married Richard "Buck" Prather, who survives at their home.

Kathern was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing, walking, camping and attending her grandchildren's ballgames and events. She was a member of various organizations including the Eastern Star, Holly Guild, and a faithful member of Iberia First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Buck Prather; six children, Sonja Luttrell and husband Kenny of Iberia, Lisa Baker and husband Ricky of Iberia, Beverley Overbey of Lake Ozark, Bridget Robertson and husband Leroy of Iberia, Michael Brumley of Iberia, and Larry Brumley of Purcell, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Sonja Walker of Osage Beach; one brother Ronnie Humphrey and wife Marilyn of Iberia; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Thomas and one brother, Joe Humphrey.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Eastern Star service beginning at 1 p.m., followed immediately with the funeral service, on Monday, April 16, at Iberia First Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
