Kathy A. Blankenship, age 66, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born on January 13, 1950, daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Atwell) Prater. On March 19, 1997, in Iberia, Kathy married Dallas Dean Blankenship, who preceded her in death on May 4, 2008.
Kathy worked for the Secretary of State office for many years until her retirement. She loved to quilt, embroider, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Dale Whittle of Iberia; one daughter, Holli Robinett and husband Shannon of Brumley; two grandchildren, Paige Patro and husband Zach of Iberia and Caleb Robinett and wife Alina of Brumley; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Patro, Owen Patro, and Adalynn Robinett; two brothers, Jackie Prater and wife Lois and Ronnie Prater both of Iberia; and three sisters, Judy Fritchey and husband Bob of Henley, Pam Thornton and husband Joe of House Springs, and Sandy Hardesty and husband Steve of Platte City.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Depping.
Visitation will be from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Dennis Nichols will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia
