Katie L. Smith, age 81, of Ulman, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016, at her daughter's home in Eugene. She was born in Tennessee on May 20, 1934, daughter of the late Robert and Maggie (Vernon) Bell. Katie was married to John Wyrick, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1976. On April 9, 1982, in Oklahoma, Katie married Readie Smith, who preceded her in death on June 22, 2001.

She is survived by seven children, Clinton Wyrick and wife Dawn of Eldon, Donna Roark and husband Mitch of Iberia, Crystal Singleton and husband Rowdy of Crocker, Larry Wyrick and wife Tammy of Ulman, Bonnie Ahart and husband Ron of Eugene, Sam Wyrick of Ulman, and David Smith of Ulman; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, one brother, and one sister-in-law.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Scheulen, and two brothers.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Matt Boughan will officiate. Interment will be held in Jarrett Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, at the funeral home.
