Keith Eugene Pigg, age 66, of St. Elizabeth, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his home. He was born in St. Louis on March 3, 1958, son of the late Howard and Doris (Rash) Pigg. On December 5, 1987, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Keith was united in marriage to Karen Kliethermes, who survives at their home.
Keith served in the United States Navy from January of 1976, until his honorable discharge in April of 1982 earning the rank of Machinist's Mate Second Class. He was employed with MoDOT as Materials Testing Supervisor for over 23 years before retiring. He later worked for the Office of Administration for over 5 years.
Keith was an active member of the community serving on the Community Center Board, St. Elizabeth Park Board, and member of the St. Elizabeth R-IV School Board. He volunteered with the St. Elizabeth Fire Protection District, serving as the director. Keith was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he taught CCD for several years and was a member of the St. Elizabeth Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Kansas Chiefs fan. Keith cherished the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters, who were the greatest joy of his life.
In addition to his loving wife, Karen Pigg, he is also survived by two daughters, Katie (Trey) Rudroff and Kristen Kliethermes; four grandchildren, Alexis, Addie, Ava, and Anna Rudroff; brother, Leon Pigg of Desoto; sister, Zelma Sanders of Williamsville; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Doris Pigg; sister, Dora Pigg; and brother, Dean Pigg.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 30, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth with Deacon Steve Schwartze officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
