Kenneth V. Dake, age 79, of Imperial, Missouri, died Friday, December 1, 2006, at his home. He was born on September 30, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Owen Walter and Mabel Marie (Kelley) Dake. He was married on June 18, 1948, to Thelma Admire, who survives at the home.
He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved music and taught himself to play the fiddle. He retired from Chrysler and was a member of UAW Local 136 and the Boilermakers Union. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Other survivors include five children, Kenneth Morris Dake and wife, Brenda of Sedalia, Missouri, Brenda Grosvenor-AuBuchon and husband, Vincent of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Rob Dake of High Ridge, Missouri, Eve Dake of St. Louis, Missouri, and Myra Hill and husband, Ed of Imperial, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Darrel, Joel, Kelley, Sheila, Rachel, Amber, Bryan, and Max; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Alex, Jacinta, Abigail, Shea, Jenna, and Alyssa; six siblings, Farris Dake of Dixon, Missouri, Marcella Groves of Dixon, Missouri, Reba Whitaker of California, Norma Workman of St. James, Missouri, Eula Wolff of Petersburg, Illinois, and Lynda Hauck; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Veneta Rollins and Cletus Dake.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Dake Cemetery near Iberia.
