Kenneth Dewey Luttrell, age 73, of Brumley, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Brumley on April 20, 1944, son of the late Kenneth and Juanita (Brown) Luttrell. On June 19, 1965, in Crocker, Dewey married Barbara Plemmons, who survives at their home.
Dewey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved sports and enjoyed watching his kids and grandchildren play in various sporting activities. Dewey loved his Lord Savior and enjoyed reading his bible. He was a devoted member of Concord Christian Church and in 31 years he never missed a Sunday service.
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, he is also survived by three children, Tim Luttrell and wife Sharon of Brumley, Rick Luttrell and wife Christi of Brumley, and Amanda McMullen of Kaiser; six grandchildren, Joshua Luttrell, Shelynna Luttrell, Paige Luttrell, Bailey Luttrell, Emily McMullen, and Storm Glawson; and two brothers, Vernon and James Luttrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Robinett and Mary Luttrell; and two brothers, Lonnie and David Luttrell.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m., with service immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, December 22, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Ralph Byrd officiating. Interment will be held in Robinett Cemetery near Brumley.
