Obituary

Larry L. Bock, age 75, of Meta, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born in Jefferson City on September 26, 1941, son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Howard) Bock. On August 7, 1965, in St. Anthony, Larry married the love of his life Marcella Holtmeyer, who survives at their home.

Larry graduated from Fatima High School in the spring of 1960 and went on to attend Lincoln University. Larry honorably served in the United Stated Navy as an E-5 Second Class Petty Officer during the Cuban Crisis and Vietnam War.

After the war Larry worked for the Highway Patrol and later worked for Ameren Union Electric until his retirement. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

In addition to his loving wife, Marcella Bock, he is also survived by one daughter, Wanda Bock of Jefferson City; two sons, Scott Bock and wife Shirley and Todd Bock both of Meta; seven grandchildren, Megan Bock, Jordan Dulle, Brett Dulle, Jacob Dulle, Amber Bock, Miranda Bock, and William Bock; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bock and special uncle, Joe Bock.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Clara Billo Friedman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 21, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Southside Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., on Thursday, July 20, at the church.
