LaVerne Christine Dubbert, age 94, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at The Timbers Assisted Living in Holts Summit. She was born on the family farm in St. Elizabeth on July 5, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph Conrad and Clara Catherine (Fennewald) Jurgensmeyer. On November 8, 1949, LaVerne was united in marriage to Victor Adam Wilde, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1974. To this union, 10 children were born. On June 2, 1978, LaVerne married Daniel Bernard Dubbert, who preceded her in death after 35 years of marriage on September 25, 2013.

LaVerne was a faithful lifelong member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was also active in the St. Ann’s Sodality Society and the St. Elizabeth Quilting Club. LaVerne co-founded St. Elizabeth TV and Appliance, a longstanding business in the community.

She was an avid quilter and a competitive card player. LaVerne was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan who would not miss a game on TV. She loved traveling the country with her husband, Daniel, visiting all 50 states during their 35 years of marriage. Whether visiting new places or gathering for holidays and celebrations, LaVerne cherished the moments with her family creating lasting memories with those she loved.

She is survived by eight children, Charles (Linda) Wilde, Lois (Charles) Bax, Victor (Karen) Wilde, David (Carolyn) Wilde, Michael (Becky) Wilde, Janet (Jim) Lueckenhoff, James (Lisa) Wilde, and Paul (Ann) Wilde; son-in-law, Dale Doerhoff; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three siblings, Joe Jurgensmeyer, Charles Jurgensmeyer, and Emogene Jurgensmeyer; and a host of beloved family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Wilde; daughter, Ruth Doerhoff; grandson, John Paul Lueckenhoff; and five siblings, Ambrose Jurgensmeyer, Virgil Jurgensmeyer, Robert Jurgensmeyer, Judith Lewis, and Arlene Kalaf.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Interment will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery. A private family visitation will be held at the Community Center prior to Mass.

In place of a public visitation, friends and family are invited to gather for a meal at the St. Elizabeth Community Center after the graveside service to honor and celebrate LaVerne’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Lawrence Cemetery Trust, P.O. Box 1, St. Elizabeth, MO 65075 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
