Lee Lawson, age 56, of Meta, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at his sons home in O'Fallon. He was born in Dixon on November 12, 1950, a son of the late Blufford Lawson and Lois (Baker) Lawson. On July 1, 1991, in Miami, Oklahoma, he was married to Mary Ann Hake, who preceded him in death on September 15, 1999.

Lee was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Dixon for over 20 years and then at the Ozark Hat Factory in St. Elizabeth for over 10 years.

Those who survive him include: one daughter, Tanya Solan of Dixon; one son, David Lawson and girlfriend Lacey Wilkinson of O'Fallon; two grandsons, Baily and Riley Solan of Dixon; step-mother JoAnn Lawson of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; ex-wife and friend, Connie Lawson of Dixon; two brothers, Ralph Lawson and wife Diane of Peidmont and Tom Lawson and wife Candy of Dixon and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Bro. Kenny Sullins will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Southside Cemetery near Meta.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
