Leland Dale Hutchinson, age 71, of Tuscumbia, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born in St. Louis on August 20, 1937, son of William J. and Irene (Spivey) Hutchinson. On April 17, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Leland married Betty Ann (Ponder) Porter, who preceded him in death on April 22, 2007.

Leland was an Iron worker with I.W.A #433 and he also served in the U.S. Army. He attended Bray's Advent Christian Church near Iberia.

He is survived by one sister, Thalia Rowe of Nashville, Tennessee; seven children, Sherry Berry of St. Clair, Joyce Wood of Lake Ozark, Diana Simpson of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, Clinton Porter of Iberia, Leland Hutchinson Jr., James Hutchinson, and Kimberly Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers and sister, Vera Hutchinson, Juanita Hutchinson, William "Bill" Hutchinson, Myra Parish, and Rodney Hutchinson.

Visitation will be from 11:00-11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009, at Bray's Advent Christian Church with a memorial service immediately following. Pastor Don Brown will officiate.
