Lena Faye Morrow, age 79, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Miller County Nursing Home of Tuscumbia, Missouri. She was born on January 19, 1931 in Dixon, daughter of the late Jefferson and Bessie (Humphrey) Morrow.
She grew up in Iberia and attended school. Faye was a hardworking woman. She began working at an early age at the L&B Manufacturing in Iberia as a seamstress. She moved to Bonner Springs, Kansas where she spent the majority of her adult life and was employed as a seamstress for Swingster Manufacturing.
In 2005, Faye moved to Waynesville to be closer to her children. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them, especially the grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She also liked being outdoors while working in her garden and could be found canning a lot of vegetables for her family.
Faye leaves to cherish her memory her children: Annie Carroll of St. Robert, Claudia "Possie" Baker (Darrell) of Iberia, MO, Doug Duncan (Lana) of Dixon, MO, Susan Duncan of Kansas City, KS, Rita Shuler (David) of Bonner Springs, KS, Donald Duncan of Kansas City, KS and Jeff Duncan (Kim) of Iberia, MO; one brother: Charles Morrow (Bo) of Jefferson City, MO; three sisters: Brooksie Sons of Jefferson City, MO, Delphie Sons of Brumley, MO and Mae Duncan of Camdenton, MO; 32 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by one son: C. David Duncan; two brothers: Wesley and William "Cotton" Morrow; one sister: Leona Robinette; one granddaughter: Rachel Duncan; two grandsons: Jeffrey James Carroll and Brian Raymond Duncan and three great grandchildren: Noehey Hurt, Chance and Chase Bond.
A memorial gathering will be held from 9:00 – 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. A meal will follow in the Brumley Lions Club of Brumley, MO.
