Obituary

Leo Crider, age 77, of Brinktown, passed away from melanoma cancer on Monday, September 24, 2018, at SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born in Vienna on November 30, 1940, son of the late Sam and Anna (Sudheimer) Crider. On April 23, 1960 at Guardian Angels Church in Brinktown, Leo was married to Mary Jo Otto, who survives at their home.

Leo worked as a truck driver and factory laborer. His passions were driving across the country and passing along his love of hunting and fishing to his children and grandchildren. A great outdoorsman and storyteller, Leo enjoyed sharing tales with anyone who would listen.

Leo was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown.

In addition to his loving wife, Mary Jo Crider, he is also survived by four children, Carol Cleary of Prairie Village, Kansas, Sam Crider of Jefferson City, Joe Crider of Wardsville, and Traci Albertson of Jefferson City; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Georgia Hood, Betty West, Kathie Risse, Lucy Branson, Shirley Huffman, Harold Crider, and Linda Crider; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two siblings, Norman Crider and Lois Crider.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., on Wednesday, September 26, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., with a morning visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., on Thursday, September 27, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown with Fr. Matthew Flatley officiating. Interment will be held in Guardian Angels Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested for Masses or the Guardian Angels Cemetery Fund.
