Leonard Anton Herigon, age 70, of St. Thomas, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born in St. Thomas on December 31, 1937, son of Lawrence and Caroline (Wieberg) Herigon. On June 17, 1967, in St. Elizabeth, he was married to Marjorie Ann Rehagen, who survives at the home.
He worked for 36 years in the shipping department at Von Hoffman Press retiring on December 31, 2002. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Other survivors include one son, Roger Herigon and wife Darla of Meta; three daughters, Rose Holtmeyer and husband David "Abe" of St. Anthony, Ruth Frank and husband James of Westphalia, and Rita Ponder and husband Tony of Iberia; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Harold Groner and wife Laura of Jefferson City, Lloyd Herigon and wife Jeannie of St. Thomas, Darrell "Casper" Herigon and wife Myra of St. Thomas; three sisters, Irene Boessen and Viola Boessen both of St. Thomas, and Jane Bax and husband Tim of St. Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall with a prayer service at 7:15 p.m.
