Leroy Wilfred Scheulen, age 72, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home. He was born in Meta on October 13, 1953, son of the late Lawrence and Agatha (Rehagen) Scheulen. On January 8, 2010, Leroy was united in marriage to Judith Ellen Kirk, who survives at their home.

Leroy attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta, where his faith remained an important part of his life. He worked for many years as an accountant for the Department of Corrections, until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Scheulen; four children, RJ (Melissa) Scheulen, Jamie (Wesley) Atwell, Jessica Scheulen, and Carrie (Ryan) Schupp; grandchildren; sister, Phyllis (Bill) Brand; brother, Lawrence “Junior” Scheulen; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Agatha Scheulen; and two brothers, James and Robert Scheulen.

Leroy’s final wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.
