Lloyd DeGraffenreid, age 90, of Brumley, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born in Brumley on February 10, 1927, son of the late Elijah and Olive Myrtle Huddleston DeGraffenreid. On November 26, 1950, in Buckner, Lloyd married Veda Evelyn Scott, who preceded him in death on May 13, 2017.
Lloyd and his wife, Veda, owned and operated DeGraffenreid Store in Brumley for 38 years, he also worked as a carpenter. Lloyd was a long-time member of the Brumley Baptist Church. Lloyd was a member of the Iberia Masonic Lodge, Iberia VFW, and a past Post Master at Brumley. He joined the Navy and served in WWII and Korean Conflict. Lloyd was active in the Brumley community.
He is survived by three children, Karen DeGraffenreid of Brumley, Sharon Gardner of Iberia, and James DeGraffenreid and wife Kathy of Port St. Lucie, Florida; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lloyd DeGraffenreid; daughter, Mary Ann Smith; son-in-law, Danny Gardner; and his twin brother, Floyd DeGraffenreid, three sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Thursday, November 16, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Warren Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Judes.
