Obituary

Lloyd F. Rowden, age 84, of Dixon, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at his home. He was born in Miller County on October 21, 1924, son of Grover and Eva Mae (Lawson) Rowden. On September 25, 1948, in Vienna, Lloyd married Viola Ruth Lee, who survives at the home.

Lloyd was a past employee of Dixon Shoe Factory and he was also employed with Civil Service as a Dietary Aide for over 20 years. He was a farmer his entire life and loved to fish and hunt. He served in the Army during WWII. Lloyd was a member of the Iberia American Legion, Iberia VFW, and of Bray's Advent Christian Church near Iberia.

He is also survived by three sons, Randy Rowden and wife Anita of Dixon, David Rowden and wife Joanie of Iberia, and Mark Rowden of Dixon; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Floyd Rowden and an infant brother.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. with services immediately following at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Minister Julie Weems will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105, will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
