Loeta M. Herrell, age 96, of Iberia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Haven Assisted Living Facility in Charlotte, Michigan.  She was born near Iberia on September 29, 1928, daughter of the late Rolla and Elsie (Bond) Wall.

Loeta was a 1946 graduate from Iberia High School and later attended and graduated from Southwest Baptist College, in Bolivar, Mo. on May 13, 1949.  She proudly worked for the Kansas City Water Department until deciding to settle down. On May 26, 1956, in Kansas City, MO, Loeta married William "Bill" Joseph Herrell. They spent 50 wonderful years together, before he preceded her in death on May 29, 2006.

Loeta was a wonderful, caring and loving mother. She had two children, Glenda Lyon and Greg Herrell, who she enjoyed raising. She loved being a stay-at-home mother, taking care of her family, home, visiting with people, going to church, and traveling with her husband. After her grandchildren were born, she and Bill would travel to Michigan frequently to spend time with Glenda and her children Travis and Tim. Back home in Missouri, they enjoyed hosting their son, Greg, and his daughter, Dakota, at their farm in Iberia. Loeta will be dearly missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Lyon of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; grandchildren, Travis Lyon (Tiffani), Tim Lyon, and Dakota Harmon (Paul); great-grandchildren, PJ Harmon, Maya Harmon, Eleanor Lyon with two on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Joyce (a childhood best friend), and Connie and Judy (who she grew close with in her apartment complex in Michigan).

She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Herrell, six brothers and sisters, Kenneth Wall, Glennis Pemberton, Phyllis Resa, Geraldine Padden, Gerald Wall, and Clate Wall.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Tuesday, September 9, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Pastor Brandon Kissinger officiating.  Interment will be held in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.
