Obituary

Loetta Maxine Barr Grady, age 95, formerly of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Delmar Gardens South in St. Louis. She was born on January 20, 1920, daughter of the late William and Cora (Kelsay) Barr. On August 10, 1946, in Iberia, Loetta married Perry Grady, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2001.

Loetta was a former member of the Veteran's Auxiliary, Pulaski County Area of Retired School Personnel, and of Missouri Retired Teachers Association. She also volunteered for the Iberia Senior Citizens Friendship Hall. Loetta was a member of the Hickory Point Baptist Church in Iberia

Loetta was a school teacher and taught in the Miller County area for thirty-five years. Six of those years she taught in Brumley and twenty-nine years at Iberia.

Loetta is survived by one daughter, Patsy Grady Plemmons of Arnold; two granddaughters, Valerie Plemmons Guelker of St. Louis and Leah Plemmons Stewart of Arnold; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Stewart of Arnold.

In addition to her husband, Perry Grady, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Malone Barr Thompson and Frances Barr Freeman and three brothers, Kirsting Barr, Radford Barr and Basil Barr.


Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 19, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Kelvin Walker will officiate. Interment will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
