Lois Jean Whittle, age 82, of Tuscumbia, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Arkansas on April 22, 1927, daughter of the late Lewis and Erma (James) Stark. On February 26, 1941, in Reno, Nevada, Lois married Elmer Charles Whittle, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1988.

Lois was a member of the Church of Christ in Lodi, California.

She is survived by one son, David Whittle and wife Tabby of Tuscumbia; one daughter, Deanie Workman of O'Fallon; three grandchildren, Tyler Blagden of Camdenton, Rob Workman of O'Fallon, and Karen Workman of O'Fallon; two great grandchildren, Nolan Scott and Emma Workman; one brother, Bertis (Red) Stark of Arizona; one sister, Juanita Coburn of Modesto, California; and three step grandchildren, Jordan, Trevor, and Austin.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Juanita Phillips and one granddaughter, Sheila Blagden.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Kevin Blackburn will officiate. Interment will be in Gott Cemetery in Ulman.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
