Louis Roman Stegeman, age 74, of Brumley, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at his home.   He was born in Jefferson City on September 15, 1943, son of the late Roman Henry and Sophia Henrietta (Hoffman) Stegeman.

Louis owned and operated Stegeman Charcoal Company for 30 years and in his spare-time he enjoyed playing the fiddle.   Louis grew up in the Taos area and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He is survived by his significant other, Roberta Bowlin; children, Robert Stegeman, Brenda Brenneke, Scott Stegeman, Julie Cross, Lisa Russell, Louis Gregoire, Christina Ziegler, April Davenport, Lacey Bowlin, Ashley Stegeman, Stacy Stegeman, and Amanda Asher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Anna Marie "Ann" Carel, Richard Stegeman, Elizabeth "Betty" Gilmore, Rosaline Thomas (Kenny), Frances Stegeman, Jim Stegeman, Joanie Heislen Luetkemeyer and Jerry Stegeman; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charlie Stegeman.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon) on Tuesday, July 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home with Tim Drake officiating. Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
