Lucille Steen, age 93, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at her daughter's home. She was born in Miller County on September 3, 1925, daughter of the late Aubrie and Emma (Burnham) Robertson. On November 29, 1946, in Hardy, Arkansas, Lucille married Paul Newton Steen, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2003.
She worked at Bendix Corp. in Kansas City and Ft. Wood. Lucille and Paul settled in Iberia and raised their family and worked on the family farm. In 1958, Lucille and Paul founded Iberia Lumber Company.
Lucille took great pride in being a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a member of Iberia Garden Club and Iberia First Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas Steen (Loretta), Michael Steen, and Rodney Steen (Jackie) all of Iberia; one daughter, Paula Riemensnider (Randy) of Iberia; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Judy Steen, brother, Kleo Robertson, and one grandson, Bucky Phillips.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 20, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Craig Woolsey officiating. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
