Lucy Louise (Crider) Branson, age 88, of Vienna, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born on June 7, 1938, daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Sudheimer) Crider. On March 2, 1961, Lucy was united in marriage to Victor Louis Branson, who preceded her in death on February 19, 2006.

Lucy was a devoted member of Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna, where she lovingly served as a Eucharistic minister and generously gave her time to fall meals and community events. After graduating from Vienna High School, she worked at the shoe factory in Dixon and later shared her care for others as a cook at Visitation Catholic School.

Lucy found joy in quilting and thoughtfully made bed pads for the Missouri Veteran’s Home in St. James. She also gave her time to Heartland Library in Vienna and enjoyed peaceful days spent fishing. Among her most treasured traditions was “Sisters Day,” when she and her sisters gathered on the third Tuesday of each month to enjoy one another’s company.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Mellissa (Anthony Davis) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Zach) Wallace, Samantha (Austin) Distler, Kody Hertzing, Brianna McCoo, Austin Davis, and Dakota Davis; and two sisters, Shirley Huffman and Linda Crider; and a host of family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her two children, Danny Branson and Rebecca Johnson; seven siblings, Georgia Hood, Betty West, Cathy Risse, Leo Crider, Harold Crider, Lois Crider, and Norman Crider; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Hertzing; and great-great-granddaughter, Hannah Sue Wallace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna. Inurnment will be held in Kenner Cemetery near Vienna.
