Lucy B. Tappehorn, age 85, of St. Elizabeth, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009, at Autumn Meadows Nursing Home in Linn. She was born in St. Elizabeth on October 17, 1923, daughter of the late Henry and Ada (Gray) Hake. In 1949 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, Lucy married Henry F. Tappehorn, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1974.
Lucy was a member of St. Ann's Sodality and St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth.
She is survived by one son, David Tappehorn of St. Elizabeth; one daughter, Mary Kibler of Jefferson City; one sister-in-law, Marie Hake of Labadie; and one brother-in-law, James Bardot of Lonedell.
She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, James (Rick) Kibler; two sisters, Elizabeth Hake and Mary Bardot; and four brothers, John Hake, Jerry Hake, Chris Hake, and Bill Hake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte will officiate. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 1, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City or to Autumn Meadows Nursing Home.
