Lula Rosa Reeves, age 83, of St. Elizabeth, died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in Koeltztown on February 20, 1924, daughter of Lemuel and Mary Susie (Dearduff) Thompson. On June 6, 1942, in Vienna, she was married to William Leonard Reeves, who preceded her in death on July 14, 1979.
She was a Christian and supported various television ministries. She loved gardening, growing flowers, and fishing.
Survivors include five sons, William Junior Reeves of Columbia, Bobby Joe Reeves of Westphalia, Lemuel Leroy Reeves of Lake Ozark, Sammy Dale Reeves of Loose Creek, and Harold Wayne Reeves of St. Elizabeth; five daughters, Susie Ann Rush of Jefferson City, Lula Darlene Mengwasser of New Bloomfield, Verla Frances Tedana of Ft. Worth, Texas, Donna Kay Hasley of Saratoga, Arkansas, and Sharlene Lynn Lester of Lakeland, Florida; 34 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, at Little Flock Baptist Church near Vienna. Pastor Louis Dunlap will officiate. Interment will be in Little Flock Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
