Lynette Gayle Pendleton, age 68, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024. She was born in Tuscumbia on September 1, 1956, daughter of the late Donald and Betty Mae (Flaugher) Abbett. On June 21, 1980, at Tuscumbia Christian Church, Lynn was united in marriage to Michael Alvin Pendleton, who preceded her in death on December 1, 2023.
Lynn was a proud and active member of the Tuscumbia Community. In addition to being employed for 23 years at Miller County R-III as a Paraprofessional and teacher, she also owned and operated White Oak Nursery for over 10 years. Lynn shared her passion for swimming by teaching swim lessons with the American Red Cross for 50 years. She loved crafting and enjoyed time outdoors fishing and camping.
She found joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who will treasure her memory and continue her legacy. Lynn was baptized in 1975 and was a faithful member of Tuscumbia Christian Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Brett (Chelsea) Pendleton of St. Elizabeth and Bart (Chelsea) Pendleton of Ulman; three grandchildren, Bennett, Brooklyn, and Olivia; brother, Donnie (Janet) Abbett; sister, Christy (Reggie) Rush; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Betty Abbett; husband, Mike Pendleton; father and mother-in-law, Harold Alvin and Lillie Pendleton; and sister-in-law, Diana Pendleton.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia. Following the graveside service, a meal will be served at the Tuscumbia Christian Church for all to attend.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Tuscumbia Swimming Lessons.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
