Mack B. May, Sr., age 89, of Tuscumbia, Missouri, died Friday, September 28, 2007, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born in Haw River, North Carolina on September 5, 1918, a son of the late Mack A. and Emma (Bridges) May. In 1956 in Miami, Florida, he was married to Jennie W. Whitaker, who preceded him in death on April 19, 2006.
Mack was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Biscayne Bay Masonic Lodge #124 in Miami, Florida. He resided in Sebastian, Florida for 30 years where he was a member of the VFW Post 10210. He was also a member of the Space Coast Chapter US Sub Vets of World War II.
Those who survive him include: one son, Mack B. May, Jr. and wife Toni of Lake Ozark, Missouri; two grandchildren, Matthew May of San Diego, California and Christine Shure and husband Joel of Denver, Colorado; one great grandson, Atticus Shure of Denver, Colorado and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved stepbrother, J. Frank Tunstall and two sisters, Maggie Belle May and Lillian Elizabeth May.
His body has been cremated under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon, Missouri.
