Margaret Frances Baughman, age 99, of Meta, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Jefferson City on June 28, 1908, daughter of William F. and Hilda Clara (Kretzschmar) Baughman, both deceased.

She retired from Kress Dime Store in Jefferson City on March 15, 1963. After retirement, she moved to Meta to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Ellis Barnhart, to help care for her mother. She was a hard worker and was very helpful with errands on the farm. She was baptized at an early age at the Lutheran Church in Jefferson City. She attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Babbtown and Meta Christian Church. She often talked about how she loved to attend church and hear the scriptures taught. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred Barnhart of St. Elizabeth; cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Scheperle officiating. Interment will be in Southside Cemetery near Meta.
