Obituary

Marilyn S. Holtmeyer, age 67, of St. Anthony, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009, at her home. She was born in Cole County on August 21, 1941, daughter of the late Raymond and Marie (Prenger) VanLoo. On November 17, 1973, in Wardsville, Marilyn married Alvis "Al" Holtmeyer, who preceded her in death on October 20, 1990.

Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Helias High School. She was employed with Landwehr Dairy, Langenberg Hat Factory in St. Elizabeth, Family Memorial Planning, and the Missouri Department of Health until her retirement in 2004. She enjoyed bird watching, flowers, gardening, and bowling. She loved her family, friends, especially her young nieces, nephews, and her dog, Bobby. Marilyn was an active member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Holtmeyer and Ronnie Holtmeyer, both of St. Anthony; two brothers, James VanLoo and wife Sarah, Jack VanLoo and wife Wanda all of Wardsville; two sisters, Dorothy Sommers and husband Alfred of Fulton, and Grace Lauf of Jefferson City.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rayma Forck, and an infant sister, Mary Jane VanLoo.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte and Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, August 11, at the St. Anthony Parish Hall. An additional visitation will be held from 8-10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, at the Hall.
