Marilyn (Ferguson) Ponder, age 79, of Joplin, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2025.  She was born in Iberia on December 26, 1945, daughter of the late Audrey and Ruby (Robinson) Ferguson.  On February 14, 1965, in Iberia, Marilyn was united in marriage to Perry Robert Ponder, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2010.

Marilyn was a devoted homemaker, dedicating much of her time and love to nurturing her family and home. Her warm presence and caring nature were the cornerstones of her household.  Her love and commitment to family, especially her grandsons, were evident in the countless activities she attended during their lives and the cherished memories they created.  Marilyn was a faithful member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Joplin.

She is survived by her son, Erik Ponder and wife Lezley of Ozark; daughter, Amber Ponder of Joplin; three grandsons, Brenden Ponder and wife Ashleigh, Cody Ponder, and Kyle Ponder; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 1 p.m., with funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, April 16, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Pastor Brandon Kissinger officiating.
