Marilyn Sue (Steen-Brown) Rodden, age 80, of Brumley, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Iberia on October 26, 1944, daughter of the late Kermit Wayne and Phyllis (Bond) Steen.
Marilyn attended the Brumley Christian Church. She was employed as a switchboard operator with the State of Missouri for several decades. Marilyn took great joy in sewing, quilting, and embroidery, cherishing the time she spent crafting beautiful pieces. Her handiwork remains a treasured legacy among her family.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Rodden; stepson, Roger (Shelba) Rodden; grandchildren, Drew Rodden and Dakota Rodden; two half-sisters, Cathi Terwilleger and Elaine Northtrop; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Edward Brown; daughter, Grace Ellen; adopted son, Joe Brown; sister, Vertrilla Steen; brother, Wayne Steen; and half-brother, Ron Northtrop.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, September 5, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Dennis Nichols officiating. Interment will be held at Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Livingston Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
