Obituary

Marjorie Robinett Cannon, 91, of Lexington, North Carolina, died Saturday, November 3, 2007, at Alston Brook Nursing Center. She was born in Brumley on June 16, 1916, daughter of Herman A. and Cynthia (Rodden) Robinett. She was married to Charles Willard Cannon, who preceded her in death.

She was a resident of Shawnee, Kansas, for 56 years until moving to Lexington to make her home with her granddaughter, Sherry Jackson and husband Steve in 1999.

Survivors include one son, Lonnie Ray Cannon; one daughter, Eva Carol Dupuis; ten grandchildren, Charles Wade Cannon, Charles Wayne Cannon, Lonnie Ray Cannon, Jr., Kenneth Wade Cannon, Sherry Foxx Jackson, Verna Glover Whalen, Jayne Rosanne Huggins, Connie Jo Huggins, Willard Dwayne Huggins, and Michelle Renee Huggins; nine great-grandchildren, Cole Austin Cannon, Kasey Nicole Cannon, William Adam Jackson, Thomas Cole Jackson, Henry Ingalls Cannon, Charles Wayne Cannon, Katrina McClure, McKenzie Rae Cannon, and Lanigan Marjorie Whalen; two great great-grandchildren, Maddy and Elly Hoffhiners; two brothers, Edgar "Junior" Robinett and Wade Vernon Robinett; and two sisters, Ellen Hier and Edna Bowles.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Willard Vernon Cannon and Charles Dwayne Cannon.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Graveside services will follow at 12 noon at Robinett Cemetery near Brumley. Rev. Chris Dumas will officiate.
