Marjorie Ann Howard, age 83, of Tuscumbia passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 24, 2017. She was born in Trenton on April 8, 1934, daughter of the late Dr. Marshall Eugene Humphreys II and Margaret Helen (Whitfield) Humphreys. On February 14, 1953, in Tuscumbia, Marjorie married Dr. Paul Howard, who survives at their home.
Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Those closest to Marjorie will remember her wonderful sense of humor. She loved taking trips to Arizona and playing music. Marjorie was a member of Tuscumbia Christian Church. Marjorie loved Jesus Christ with all her heart. Her faith in Jesus was her strength
In addition to her loving husband, Paul, she is also survived by four daughters, Rebecca Young and husband Paul, Connie Wyrick and husband Kenny, Stephanie Graves, and Molly Howard; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Susan Grossman and husband Larry; and two sisters-in-law, Janice Humphreys and Mary Howard Gourley.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall Humphreys III; two grandchildren, James Ernest Eugene Patterson and Thomas Tyson Graves; and one son-in-law, Monty Graves.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, at Tuscumbia Christian Church with Bro. Paul Young officiating. Interment will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
