Mark A. Lawrence, age 62, of Iberia passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at his home. He was born in Kansas City on December 19, 1951, son of Eddie and Lucille (Pemberton) Lawrence. On March 30, 1973, in Iberia, Mark married Janet Drace, who survives at the home.
Mark was a member of the Blues Society and Iberia First Assembly of God, where he also served as deacon. He was an active member in the church and also served as the coordinator of the local Celebrate Recovery Program. Mark was a member of Alcohol Anonymous for 37 years.
He is also survived by two daughters, Annie Kish and husband Jonathan of Iberia and Sarah Lawrence of Iberia; one grandson, Kevin Schubert and wife Alicia of Iberia; two great-grandchildren, Damion and Todd; his mother, Lucille Lawrence of Richland, two brothers, Bill Van Sant and wife Sue of Bates City and Matthew Lawrence and wife Trish of Stoutland; and several close cousins, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lawrence and one brother, Sam Lawrence.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 12, at Iberia First Assembly of God Church. Randy Hoffmann and Chip Sanders will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
