Mark W. Sherrell, age 46, of Meta, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at his home. He was born in Jefferson City on July 10, 1961, son of Clarence S. and Helen A. (Taggart) Sherrell. On September 14, 1991, in Jefferson City, he was married to Mary Beth Hagan, who survives at the home.

He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 396 of St. Louis.

Other survivors include one son, Eric Sherrell of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Kendra and Kane Sherrell; his mother, Helen James of Jefferson City; his father and stepmother, Sam and Mildred Sherrell of New Bloomfield; two brothers, Steve Sherrell of Meta and Alan Sherrell and wife, Doreene of New Bloomfield; one stepbrother, Mike Gibler of Jefferson City; and one stepsister, Lori Davis of New Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Sammy and Ritchie Sherrell; his stepfather, Roy James; and his stepbrother, Robert Gibler.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Interment will be in Southside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
