Marshall Eugene Humphreys III, age 63, of Ulman, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Waynesville on July 28, 1947, son of the late Dr. Marshall Eugene and Margaret H. (Whitfield) Humphreys. On July 22, 1966, in Tuscumbia, Marshall married Janice Hensley, who survives at the home.
Marshall served his country in the United States Army from August 1966 until his discharge in June 1969. He was a life long Miller County Resident where he raised cattle and turkeys. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Marshall was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church.
He is also survived by three children, Marshall Eugene Humphreys IV and wife Kimberly, Allison Patterson and husband Paul, and Michael Humphreys all of Ulman; two sisters, Marjorie Howard of Tuscumbia and Susan Grossman of Henderson, Nevada; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Pendleton and husband Bart, Marshall Humphreys V, Kirsten Patterson, Tara Humphreys, Zane Humphreys, Orrie Patterson, and Mackenzie Humphreys; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Pendleton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Tuscumbia Christian Church. Bro. Bill Vernon will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
