Marvin D. Bond, age 59, of Eldon, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born in Eugene on September 6, 1947, a son of the late Howard Eugene and Evelyn Faye (Buster) Bond. On April 1, 1967, at Bagnell Baptist Church he was married to Roma Byrd, who survives at the home.
Marvin was a member of the American Fox Trotters Association and enjoyed showing horses. He was also a member of Brumley Christian Church.
Others who survive him include: one son, Duane E. Bond and wife Tammy of Elgin, South Carolina; one daughter, Sheila M. Bond of Eldon; five grandchildren, Katlin, Randy and Rachel Bond and Travis and Tyler Graham; one brother, Ronald E. Bond of Melbourne, Florida and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, March 9, with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery near Kaiser.
