Mary Frances (Hix) Pemberton, age 66, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday March 8, 2018, at Lake Regional Hospital. She was born in Ulman on July 29, 1951, daughter of the late Robert Hix Sr. and Etta (Harrison) Hix. On October 18, 1999, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Mary married Darrell "Jimmy" Pemberton, who preceded her in death on November 18, 2017.

During her childhood, Mary attended Ulman Baptist Church and later attended Marshfield First Baptist Church. Mary worked First State Bank which later became Maries County Bank in Iberia until her retirement in 2017.

Mary is survived by one son, Mike Hinkley of Lebanon; one daughter, Sara Herren and husband Champ of Marshfield; two step-children, Rob Pemberton and wife Roberta of Rocky Mount and Mindy Lee and husband Greg of Iberia; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Helton and husband Danny of Brinktown; and two brothers, Bill Hix of Iberia and Bob Hix of Palm Desert, California; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Herb Hix, infant sister, Linda Jane Hix; and her grandson, James Pemberton.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 10, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Randy Stohs officiating. Final inurnment will be in Gott Cemetery near Ulman.
