Mary Jane Kemna, age 81, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in St. Elizabeth on May 23, 1943, daughter of the late Walter and Marie (Evers) Kliethermes. On July 6, 1968, Mary Jane was unite in marriage to Mark Kemna, who survives at their home.
Mary Jane was employed with the Hat Factory in St. Elizabeth for over 30 years and was later employed at St. Elizabeth Care Center in the dietary department. She had an endearing personality and kind heart who possessed an unwavering love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Mary Jane was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, Mark Kemna, she is also survived by one son, Markie (Dana) Kemna; two daughters, Shelly (Andy) Oligschlaeger and Tina (Shannon) Wilde; eight grandchildren, Dakota Kemna, Tori Kemna, Peyton Oligschlaeger, Olivia Oligschlaeger, Katelyn Oligschlaeger, Hunter (Nicole) Wilde, Maddie Wilde, and Cole Wilde; two brothers, Bob (Ellen) Kliethermes and Leroy (Susie) Kliethermes; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Kliethermes and sister-in-law, Gail Kliethermes.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 10, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Interment will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Lawrence Cemetery or St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
