"Lou" (Kuenzly) Buechter
January 3, 1937 – October 29, 2021
Mary Louing 'Lou' (Kuenzly) Buechter, age 84, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, at her home. She was born in Antioch, California, on January 3, 1937, daughter of the late Frank Kuenzly Jr. and Ingeborg (Peterson) Kuenzly. On December 25, 1955, in St. Anthony, Missouri, Lou was united in marriage to Wilferd Lambert Buechter, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1981.
She is survived by her children, Mickie (Clifford) Nichols, Vickie (Mehmet) Bilgin, William (Kazue) Buechter, Peggy (Larry 'Cotton') Wieberg, Terry (Laura) Buechter, David (Deanna) Buechter, Sean (Anna) Buechter, 29 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Charlene (Dee) Fitzgerald and John Kuenzly, both of California state; one sister-in-law, Dorothy (Arthur) Buechter; and numerous family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Charyl Lorene Buechter; grandson, Nicholai Iven Buechter; and great-grandson, Cole Anderson Nichols.
Lou was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
Lou received a teaching certificate and taught for several years at both Brinktown and Vienna schools. She later attended Lincoln University and attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She enjoyed reading, classical music, genealogy, crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
