Mary Lou Ripka, age 90, of Meta, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born in Meta on July 23, 1935, daughter of the late Paul and Daisey (Eckhardt) West. On May 18, 1952, in Eldon, Mary Lou was united in marriage to Marshall Bobby Ripka, who preceded her in death on August 29, 2008.

In addition to her beloved canine companions, Trudy and Samantha, she leaves behind a host of family and friends who love her dearly.

Mary Lou had a strong Christian faith, which guided her throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Campground Christian Church and a past member of Tuscumbia Christian Church.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 27, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bob Hamm officiating. Interment will be held in Southside Cemetery in Meta.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Southside Cemetery.
