Mary Ann Voss, age 81, of St. Anthony, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in St. Anthony on April 27, 1930, daughter of the late Adolph and Cecilia (Otto) Dickneite. On June 30, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, on the Kelly Air Force Base, Mary Ann married Charles Voss, who survives at the home.

Mary Ann and her husband Charles owned and operated Voss Market in St. Anthony from 1965 until 1976. She volunteered at the St. Elizabeth Care Center and as the parishes CCD Coordinator. She enjoyed embroidering, and spending time outdoors gardening and watching the hummingbirds. Mary Ann was a charter member of the Iberia VFW Ladies Auxillary and was also a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church

She is also survived by six children; Donna Green and husband Eddie of St. Anthony, Gary Voss and wife Phylis of Meta, Roger Voss and Bambi, Laura Strutton and husband Danny of St. Anthony, Alan "Buck" Voss and wife Eva of St. Anthony, and Sherry Burks and husband Michael of Olathe, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren, Adam Green, Nathan Green, Tiffany Green-Wright, Nicole McDonell, Quentin Voss, Natasha Voss, Brittany Voss, Joshua Strutton, Brandon Strutton, Shaya Schmitt, Ethan Strutton, Nicholas Voss, Zachary Voss, Connor Burks, and Sarah Burks; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Dickneite of St. Anthony; and many friends and relatives.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Rev. Ben Nwosu will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Thursday, April 26, at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Anthony Cemetery or for Masses.
