Obituary

Mary "Luan" Whittle, age 65, of Brumley, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.  She was born in Iberia on January 6, 1956, daughter of the late Wilbert "Webb" and Marjorie (Graham) Plemmons.  On August 27, 1977, at the Brumley Christian Church, Luan was united in marriage to Donny Whittle, who survives at the home.

She was employed with Holiday Inn for 15 years and retired from the Department of Agriculture after 25 years of employment.  Following retirement, she worked at the Miller County Courthouse for one year.  Luan was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader.

Luan fought the good fight these last few years and throughout her struggles and adversities her faith in the Lord remained strong.  Luan was an active member of Ulman Baptist Church and enjoyed decorating the church for various holidays and occasions.  She had a special place in her heart for her family especially her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

In addition to her husband, Donny, she is also survived by her son, Ryan Whittle (Amy Patterson); daughter, Lyndsey (Cole) Wilson; two granddaughters, Maci Steen and Abigail Herx; four grandsons, Tanner Trinklein, Mason Whittle, Cole Herx, and Blake Herx; three brothers, Wilbert "Dub", Phillip, and James (Delores) Plemmons; three sisters, Sue (Gary) Fancher, Patty (Doug) Keeth, and Pennie Plemmons; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Michael Plemmons and Richard Plemmons.

Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Sunday, October 10, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.  Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
