Maurice Eugene Mace, age 96, of Iberia, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Springfield on January 21, 1922, son of the late Claude Mace and Mary and Clyde Bilyeu. On November 27, 1942, near Brays Community, Maurice married Eunice D. McKee, who preceded him in death on December 11, 1995.

Maurice was a decorated WWII veteran, serving in the European theater. He received two purple hearts and a bronze star for his honorable service with the United States Army with the 90 ^th Infantry Division "Tough Ombres" unit.

Maurice was a member of several organizations including the Iberia Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Iberia VFW Post 6167, and American Legion Post 105. He was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church near Iberia.

He is survived by two children, Gwen Mace of Jefferson City and Gene Mace and wife Vicki of Iberia; four grandchildren, Shannon Mace, Joey Mace, Amanda DeGraffenreid, and Nick Mace; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his loving wife, Eunice, he was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Mace; two sisters, and one brother.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 17, at Brays Advent Christian Church near Iberia with Brian Duncan officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Brays Advent Christian Church.
