Melinda "Susie" Sue Stumpe, age 50, of Meta, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis after a long battle with heart complications. She was born in Jefferson City on February 28, 1967, daughter of Darrell and Jeannette (Scheulen) Ripka. On August 9, 1986, in Meta, Melinda married Joseph Martin Stumpe, who survives at their home.

Susie was a life-long resident of Meta and she worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

In addition to her husband Joe Stumpe and her mother, Jeannette Ripka, she is also survived by her three children, Ryan Stumpe and wife Hailey, Breanna Stumpe and Shania Stumpe all of Meta.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, David Ripka.

Funeral prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 29, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Interment will be held in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, at the church.
