Melvin Stark, age 64, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at his home. He was born in Miller County on March 6, 1949, son of the late Otto Melvin and Rebecca "Becky" Jean (Aubrey) Stark.
Melvin worked for Thomas Construction for several years. He was a member of the Bibleway Church of Ulman.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Stark of Kaiser; four grandchildren, Austin Stark, Dalton Burns, Kaylee Burns, and Olivia Burns; one brother, Donald Stark of Tuscumbia; three sisters, Wilma Edwards and husband Sam of Ulman, Brenda Walker and husband Mike of Osage Beach, Carolyn Fisher and husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant; six nieces, four nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Stan Way will officiate. Interment will be in Stark Cemetery near Tuscumbia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Melvin Stark Memorial Fund.
