Obituary
Merel D. Ash, age 79, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Clay County, Arkansas, on November 19, 1935, son of the late Elmer and Viola (Thornton) Ash. On March 28, 1975, Merel married Joan Crismon, who survives at the home.
Merel was a devoted member of Brumley Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, Joan Ash, he is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Goewey and husband Timothy of Iberia; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Goewey and Jessica Goewey both of Iberia; six brothers, Elmer Ash Jr. and wife Thelma of Michigan, Lonnie Ash and wife Saundria of Arkansas, Edward Ash & wife Faye of Arkansas, Wendell Ash and wife Ruby of Iberia, Winfred Ash and wife Linda of Arkansas, and Richard Ash and wife Mae of Mississippi; two sisters, Mary Cripe and husband Charles of Florida and Debra Newman and husband David of Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Robinett Cemetery.
