Merion Keith "Sam Stone" Douglas, age 60, of Meta, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014, at his home. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 11, 1954, son of the late Edward Lee and Pauline (McMurry).


He is survived by his former wife, Tonya Stump-Party of Vienna; three children, Magdalyn Douglas, Samuel Douglas, and Thomas Douglas all of Vienna; his stepmom, Brenda Douglas of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, James "Buddy" Douglas of Memphis, Tennessee; one nephew, William Mitchell Caccamisi of Victoria, Texas; two great-nephews; and one great-niece.


Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., with services immediately following at 3 p.m., on Sunday, October 26, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Bro. Sonny Meyer will officiate.


A graveside service will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Sam Douglas Memorial Fund.
